SEABED IS SILT AND MUD, WRECKSITE IS HEAVILY SILTED. NO POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION BUT CONSIDER THIS TO BE SS GLEANER, SUNK 24.1.40. (K HURLEY). NCA. 14.4.99 AMENDED TO SW 15.1MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/21 22.7.04 DIVED IN LISTED POSN. CONFIRMED AS THE VERY BROKEN UP WRECKAGE FROM AN EARLY SS. (C MICHAEL, LTR DTD 19.7.04). NCA. 9.6.10 CONSIDER THAT THIS IS WK OF PS LEEDS OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN STEAM PACKET CO, WHICH WAS ABANDONED IN A SINKING STATE ON 24.1.52 WITH NO LOSS OF LIFE. A SISTER TO PS SHEFFIELD. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS OF THE WRECK ARE OF SIDE LEVER STEAM ENGINES. THE TWO CYLINDERS HAVE A DIAMETER OF ABOUT 4FT AND ARE ON THE N SIDE OF THE ENGINE AREA.
