Cause: Built in 1910 by hall, russel & co, aberdeen. owned at time of loss by g d claridge, lowestoft. one boiler, compound expansion engine, single shaft. sailed with three spare props on deck and fishing gear in the fish hold. sank following hull leaks the hull being in very poor condition. pumping equipment was defective, crew was insufficient and lacked knowledge of the use and maintenance of such equipment. (court report). steel hull. no lives lost, all rowed ashore to shorham. (t claridge).
