Cause: Built in 1889 by short bros, sunderland, with two boilers, triple expansion engine of 209hp, single shaft. machinery by j dickinson, sunderland. passage the tyne for london. owned at time of loss by the gas light & cock co. torpedoed by ub 75. five men lost.

SHOWN IN CONJUNCTION WITH 'ELLIDA' [6032] CLOSE E AS NDW & LATER AS WKS USC PA 28MTRS. H6331/87 19.1.89 EXAM'D 18.6.88 IN 543307N, 003725W [OGB] USING TRISPONDER [4 LOP]. SWEPT CLEAR AT 36.0, FOUL AT 36.5MTRS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 36.7 IN GEN DEPTH 41MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 4.4MTRS. APPARENTLY WELL BROKEN UP COVERING AN AREA 95 X 20MTRS AND ORIENTATED 120/300DEG. HAS SEVERAL HIGH POINTS TO WHICH POSSIBLY NETS ARE ATTACHED. (LAND & MARINE, HI 414B). HH100/351/08 24.6.94 SMALL IRON WRECK, STERN UPSIDE DOWN WITH REMAINS OF BOW ALONGSIDE. FOUR BLADED PROPELLOR IS HIGHEST POINT. (P R G WADSWORTH). HH100/351/09 8.6.95 STEAM TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE LAID ON ITS SIDE. SINGLE BOILER. LARGE NET ON BOW. (A C JACKSON/C A RACEY). 30.5.02 EUT POSN: 5433.126N, 0037.518W. NE 1612. 22.2.07 FINDS FROM THIS WK HAVE BEEN DECLARED AS BEING FROM 'LAMPADA'. (S CANT, ENGISH HERITAGE, E-MAIL DTD 21.2.07). NCA. SEP 2017/000002822 8.5.17 EXAM'D 12.12.16 IN 5433.140N, 0037.555W [WGD]. LEAST W/D DEPTH 32.0MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 40MTRS, LENGTH 87.6MTRS, WIDTH 15.9MTRS, HEIGHT 8.5MTRS, ORIENTATION 123/303 DEGS. WRECK LIES BROKEN UP ON ROCKY SEABED, WRECK IS SEVERELY DEGRADED WITH MOST OF THE HULL DETERIORATED. TWIN BOILERS AND THE ENGINE ARE IDENTIFIABLE WITHIN THE DEBRIS OF THE MIDSHIPS AREA. (MMT, HI 1491). AMEND NDW 32MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
