HAS A 7 TON PROPELLER - BUT COULD ALSO BE AUD OR WAR BARON. CONSIDERED TO BE ABOUT 5000 GRT. (E GILES, 21.6.73). INS AS DW. BR STD. H2959/73 18.7.73 LOCATED IN 501420N, 053157W USING DECCA. TOO BIG TO BE AUD. (E GILES, 16.7.73). NCA. HH100/351/04 15.3.91 DIVED FREQUENTLY IN 501432N, 053201W APPROX USING DECCA. LIES IN GEN DEPTH 36MTRS [HW]. STERN HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM MAIN WRECKAGE AND LIES IN 501424N, 053228W APPROX USING DECCA. WOODEN BOXES FOUND WITH SHELL CASES AND CORDITE FILLING. (R A MAPPLEBECK, 6.1.91). NCA. HH100/351/14 13.11.98 DIVED IN 541429N, 053153.5W [OGB] USING GPS. MAINLY WELL BROKEN, THE SHIP'S PLATING COVERS A VERY WIDE AREA. TWO HUGE BOILERS, THE PROP SHAFT AND OTHER SHIP'S FITTINGS ARE RECOGNISABLE. SHALLOWEST PART OF THE WRECK IS PART OF THE HULL. STANDS SOME 12MTRS HIGH. LOCATED BY MAGNETOMETER.
