Length 64 meter, width: 10.6 meter, draught: 5, tonnage 1137 ton
Load: ballast

Cause: ex- sprucol, built 1918 by short brothers, sunderland with 8 cylinder oil engines of 183hp, twin shaft. aft machinery by j & c.g. bolinders co ltd. originally owned by anglo-american oil company of hamilton. sunk by the admiralty as a blockship in water sound as part of no.4 barrier. (sibi) 25.6.49 raised on 25.6.49 and towed to inganess bay & beached, to be broken up. (k heath)

BADLY CORRODED, NO PLANS TO SALVAGE. (ORKNEY ISLANDS COUNCIL LETTER, DTD 6.9.77). MOST PROBABLY PART OF THE 'NANA'. SEE WK [1251]. CHART AS ST IN 585751N, 025440.5W. BR STD. 29.11.03 EUT POSN: 5857.827N, 0254.772W. NE 2584. 16.7.05 THIS IS THE FOREPART OF M TANKER JUNIATA. (K HEATH, TELECON 10.4.07). 5.10.10 EXAM'D IN 5857.828N, 0254.780W [WGD] USING DGPS. WK AND POSSIBLY RELATED DEBRIS EXTENDS FURTHER FROM SHORE. (FATHOMS LTD, POST SDC BATHY REPROCESSING). LENGTH 56MTRS. LIES 037/217 DEGS WITH BOWS SW. RETAIN ST IN REVISED POSN. BR STD.
