Cause: 2.1.00 vessel, [ex 'geroi stalingrada' '97], built 1983 in russia. grounded in poor visibily and high waves. on loaded passage for murmansk. crew of 26 recovered. broke in two on 2.1.00. bow section of 130mtrs later recovered by tugs and taken for scrapping. stern section remained aground and later sank. (lloyds vols.323 & 234).
