Cause: Built in 1908 by s p austin & son, sunderland, with triple expansion engines of 113hp, 1 boiler, single shaft. owned at time of loss by stephenson, clarke & co. passage newcastle-upon-tyne for shoreham. struck a mine. 10 of 14 crew killed. (ww1sl, dods & sibi).

TWO MASTS ON SEA BED. AFT ENGINE DUE TO POSITION OF WHEEL AND TELEGRAPH. SINGLE BOILER, THREE FURNACES, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE. CONSIDERED TO BE 'PRESTO'. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY).
