Load: construction materials

Cause: wwoden vessel, built 1875 by j & h halliday, rothesay. owned at time of loss by alexander mcnicol of brodick. on passage from irvine for brodick. anchored in lamlash bay due to bad weather. was run down by ss 'glentow' of belfast. all 3 crew lost including the owner's son. (clyde shipwrecks & sibi).

NE 1864. 19.1.04 REMAINS OF VESSEL, CONSISTING OF A PILE OF BRICKS AND WOODEN DEBRIS, LIE IN APPROX 5531.850N, 0505.450W [OGB], IN GEN DEPTH 16MTRS. (CLYDE SHIPWRECKS, PUBLISHED 1997). HH090/779/01 9.2.04 LOCATED IN 5531.854N, 0505.516W [WGD] USING DGPS. LEAST MBES DEPTH 15.4 IN GEN DEPTH 16MTRS. NO SCOUR. NOT SEEN ON DCS3. (HMSML GLEANER, HI 779). BR STD.
