Cause: ex-benella '51. built in 1949 by j lewis & sons ltd, aberdeen. owned at time of loss by newington steam trawling co, hull. one boiler, triple expansion engine, single shaft. bound for icelandic fishing grounds. grounded on louther skerry. was refloated & taken in tow by lifeboat, but sank while under tow near hoxa head, south ronaldsay. (sibi).

(DIVE REPORT IN DIVER MAGAZINE JUNE 2000) HH100/351/21 30.1.04 DIVED IN 5848.757N, 0302.296W [WGD] USING GPS. BOWS SOUTH ON STBD SIDE. INTACT AND THERE IS EVIDENCE OF OIL ON THE WK.
