Cause: had major galley fire, headed inshore and took the ground. later, a second explosion destroyed wheelhouse. five crew rescued, one missing.

HH268/450/02 19.1.96 HULL OF VESSEL HAS GONE, THERE ARE ONLY A FEW BITS AND PIECES ALONG THE SHORE, SPREAD ALONG 50 TO 60 YARDS. (P&O FERRY 'ST OLA' VIA MRSC PENTLAND, TLX DTD 17.1.96). NCA.
