Cause: sprang a leak and sank. (vaec, convoy report). vessel was on passase gothenburg to tyne, sunk 10m s of longstone. (ll ww1). stated by ll to have been loss by submarine action, but not in any other war loss reference books. ex- cairnbahn, ex- trevider, built 1883 by j readhead & co., s south shields with 2 cylinder compound engine of 161hp, 2 boilers, single shaft. owned at time of loss by rederi akt. hebe. sank after developing a severe leak whilst in convoy gothenburg to tyne. (sibi) 5.10.08 igor was owned by gaelic ss co in 1898. (r young, e-mail 5.10.08)
