Cause: ex-sturgeon. built of iron in 1891 by j p rennoldson & sons, south shields. owned at time of loss by c duncan & sons ltd. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 40hp, single shaft. passage middlesborough for tees bay. mined, broke in two and sank. six lives lost.

EXAMINED BY DIVERS 13.6.29 WHEN A PIECE OF COAMING ABOUT 20FT SQUARE, WAS FOUND LEVEL WITH THE SAND. LYING NEAR THE SIDE OF TEES CHANNEL & 058DEGS, 0.28M FROM SOUTH GARE LT. LEAST DEPTH NOT LESS THAN 30FT. (TEES CONSERVANCY COMMISSION, 20.12.29). INS AS FOUL IN 543900N, 010742W [OGB]. BR STD. H8613/32 16.12.32 SWEPT CLEAR AT 31FT. (HMS FITZROY SURVEY [E3390], 14.4.31).
