Cause: Scuttled after severe damage. depth charged units of german 1st minesweeper flotilla while on patrol in heligoland bight. originally thought to have struck a mine but german records show that it was probably sunk by the 1st minesweeper flotilla. the flotilla attacked a submarine in 501900n, 073000e. engine noise ceased after 18 depth charges were dropped. heavy seas meant no oil or wreckage could be sited.
