Cause: built in 1942 by cammell laird & co ltd, birkenhead. twin oil engines for 14.75 kts surfaced, motors for 8 knots submerged. 6 x fwd 21 inch torpedo tubes, 1 aft. 1 x 3 inch gun. complement 48. whilst on patrol off bastia was attacked by italian corvettes minerva and euterpe with depth charges. was forced to the surface and abandoned, the boat being scuttled.
