Name: HMS SPHINX (POSSIBLY)

Length 70.1 meter, width: 10.4 meter, draught: 4.3, tonnage 875 ton

Cause: 4.2.40 built in 1939 in hamilton. two boilers, ts turbines of 1750hp, twin shaft. 1 x 4 inch qf, 1 x 4 inch df gun. a 'halcyon' class vessel. these were some of the first all welded ships in the rn. capsized in heavy weather after being damaged in action with enemy aircraft on night of 3-4.2.40. (ww2sl).
