Cause: 6.5.1915 ex-barry, ex-barryfield, ex-waverley. built in 1907 by j brown & co, glasgow for the barry railway co, cardiff. one boiler, diagonal triple expansion engines, two paddles. sold in 1911 to p & a campbell ltd as a passenger/cargo vessel. requistioned from 6.5.1915 to 11.1919 for use as a transport for german prisoners of war.. renamed barryfield with the same owner in 1917. renamed again as waverley in 1925. hired for service as a minesweeper from 10.1939. bombed and sunk by german aircraft with loss of 3 lives. armed with one 12 pounder gun.
