Cause: ex-fastnet. built in 1904 by cammel laird, birkenhead. twin shaft. ten 12pdr & eight 3pdr guns. a scour class cruiser. torpedoed by u 21 causing the fwd magazine to explode. 259 men lost, 9 recovered. first successful underwater torpedo attack on a moving target. (sibi).
