Name: HMS NEW DAWN

Length 26.3 meter, width: 5.6 meter, tonnage 93 ton

Cause: built in 1908 by w v v ligerwood, glasgow for the steam herring fleet ltd. hired for the auxillary patrol force as a minesweeper from nov 1914. tender to hms magpie. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 39 nhp, single shaft. passage poole for the needles for minesweeping. struck mine laid by uc-17. four men lost. (d c wendes).

HH100/351/14 26.3.99 LOCATED IN 5036.500N, 0136.267W [OGB] USING DECCA. LIES APROX E/W. VERY BROKEN. HIGHEST POINT IS THE BOILER WHICH STANDS 2-3MTRS. SEABED SAND AND SHINGLE. (M PRITCHARD, 9.3.99).
