Cause: built in 1908 by w v v ligerwood, glasgow for the steam herring fleet ltd. hired for the auxillary patrol force as a minesweeper from nov 1914. tender to hms magpie. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 39 nhp, single shaft. passage poole for the needles for minesweeping. struck mine laid by uc-17. four men lost. (d c wendes).
