Name: HMS KOPANES

Length 43.9 meter, width: 7.3 meter, tonnage 351 ton

Cause: 22.9.14 built in 1914 by cook, welton & gemmel in beverley, yorkshinre. launched as sir john jellicioe on 22.9.14. registered in hull by the imperial steam fishing co of hull on 18.12.14. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 100 hp for 11 knots. single shaft. machinery by amos & smith. requistioned in may 1915 and converted to a minesweeper, hmt jellicoe. sold 20.11.1918 to 'd' line steam fishing co, renamed dargle and registered in grimsby. in 1928 was sold to w garrett, in 1932 to t fisher and in 1933 to j little, all of grimsby. in december 1933 was sold to the kopanes steam fishing co in grimsby and renamed kopanes. reqisitioned as an auxillary patrol trawler on 2.6.40. fitted with a 12 pound deck gun. sunk 19.4.1941 by german aircraft.
