(ships of rn, vol.1). built 1655 by john tippets, portsmouth & refitted in 1678. was part of english forces trying to suppress the jacobite stronghold of duart castle when lost on eilean rubha an ridire after dragging anchor while sheletering from a storm in scallcastle bay. 126 of 132 crew lost.
