Cause: built 1940, by blyth shipbuilding co. as a 'bangor' class minesweeper, mined in the western approaches of strait of bonifacio, n sardinia. five officers and 15 ratings were killed, 62 survivors rescued. (dods, srn, bvlas 1939-45, warship losses wwii).
