Length 173.4 meter, width: 21.3 meter, draught: 12.8, tonnage 17515 ton

Cause: 15.9.1914 built in 1913 by the fairfield co. owned by allan ss co. turbine engines of 21000 shp. hired as amc from 15.9.1914. hit by 3 torpedoes from u 19 while excorting a convoy. 49 lives lost.

(AUTHORITY NOT STATED) NC F6629. 5.7.57 NOT FOUND BY ASDIC SWEEP. (HMS COOK, 1956). H5251/68 10.6.68 NO SONAR CONTACT MADE IN THIS AREA. (HMS MERMAID, ROS DTD 20.5.68). DELETE.. H3740/69 16.10.74 POSN REPORTED 552500N, 061500W. (RISDON BEAZLEY MARINE). H2885/83 10.5.85 EXAM'D 16.10.84 IN 552540N, 061740W [OGB] USING HIFIX 6. LEAST E/S DEPTH 98 IN GEN DEPTH 106MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 8.5MTRS, LENGTH 80MTRS APPROX. APPARENTLY INTACT, LYING 350/170 DEG, WITH LARGE MAST STILL STANDING NEAR CENTRE OF VESSEL. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 165A). BR STD. 5.4.17 STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS, DEFENCE NO 147/2017. COMING INTO FORCE 3.3.17. AMEND "HISTORIC".
