Shipwreck details

Name: HMS BRISK (BOW SECTION)

Length 73.2 meter, width: 7.6 meter, tonnage 780 ton

Cause: built 1910 by john brown shipbuilders, glasgow with steam turbine engines of 13500hp, twin shaft. struck a mine. forepart of ship was blown off and sank. 31 of 104 crew lost. new bow was constructed and repaired vessel continued in service until 1921. (sii)

BR STD. 22.11.04 22.11.04 EUT POSN: 5516.883N, 0615.683W. NC 2494. HH091/240/01 18.5.09 HH091/240/01 & SEP 2009/000038475 18.5.09 LOCATED 16.6.08 IN 5516.843N, 0615.769W [WGD] USING DGPS. LEAST M/B DEPTH 57.54 IN GEN DEPTH 59.7MTRS. NO SCOUR. LENGTH 55MTRS, WIDTH 23MTRS, HT 2.15MTRS. LIES 116/296 DEGS. NO MAGNETIC ANOMALY. POSSIBLY THIS WK. (FUGRO OSAE, HI 1240).
