Length 81.1 meter, width: 8.2 meter, draught: 2.7, tonnage 950 ton
Cause: Built in 1912 by denny bros. turbine engines of 25000ihp for 32 knots. three 4 inch guns, 4 torpedo tubes. was a unit of the 4th destroyer flotila at jutland. flotilla was badly mauled and lost four destroyers and one of its leaders. later that evening four more ships were lost to fire from german dreadnaughts. ardent remained the only ship to be battle-worthy. while steaming alone at 12.19am saw smoke from blowing up of hms black prince. thinking it indicated presence of her flotilla ran into the german battle squadron which had sunk black prince & was centre of attention for all their guns. 78 men lost, 2 recovered.
