Cause: built in 1875 by h murray & co, port glasgow. owned at time of loss by david macbrayne. compound engines by kemp & hume, glasgow of 47nhp. 204 net tons. sank following a collision with british paddle ss prince of wales while on passage garston to glasgow. of crew of 10, 2 were lost. (a corkill).

LEAST E/S DEPTH 34.4 IN GEN DEPTH 38MTRS. SCOUR 0.5MTR DEEP. DCS3 HT 3.6MTRS. LIES 010/190 DEG, ON ITS SIDE WITH ASSOCIATED AREA OF DEBRIS NEARBY. (HMS ROEBUCK, HI 466). INS AS WK 34MTRS.

- NM 551/91. HH100/351/07 10.9.93 SHIP'S WHEEL RECENTLY RECOVERED FROM THIS WK BEARING NAME OF BUILDER OF SS HIBERNIAN - H MURRAY, PORT GLASGOW. WK IS WELL BROKEN AND CONSISTS MAINLY OF BOILER AND ENGINE. LITTLE IRON PLATING REMAINS AND A LARGE PART OF THE WK IS BURIED IN SEABED. LARGE AMOUNTS OF COAL FOUND. (A CORKILL, 3.9.93). HH100/351/11 19.6.96 LOCATED IN CHARTED POSN. BOWS VERY BROKEN UP AND PARTIALLY BURIED. STERN VERY BROKEN UP ALSO. CENTRAL BOILER GIVES THE HIGHEST POINT OF WK. AN OLD STEAMSHIP BUT NO IDENTIFICATION COULD BE FOUND. (K HURLEY). HH100/351/19 24.9.02 POSN BY GPS: 5357.126N, 0400.508W [WGD]. (A CORKILL, EMAIL DTD 19.9.02). NCA.
