Cause: built in 1905 by s p austin & sons ltd, sunderland. owned at time of loss by lambton & hetton colliers ltd. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 155nhp, single shaft. machinery by richardson, westgarth & co, sunderland. passage from methil. struck mine laid by uc-77. (ww1sl & sibi).

HH100/351/02 8.12.89 DIVED IN 563706N, 022745W USING DECCA. BOW TO BOILERS LIES UPSIDE DOWN AND ENGINE TO STERN LIES ON PORT SIDE. ONE SINGLE BOILER, THREE CYLINDER ENGINE. SIZE TYPICAL OF COASTAL COLLIER. INSCRIPTION ON CUTLERY FOUND IN WK READS 'HERRINGTON'. STERN HIGHEST POINT. LEAST DEPTH 20 IN GEN DEPTH 30MTRS. (G L WADSWORTH, 22.11.89). PLOTS IN CHARTED DEPTH 20MTRS. INS AS USC 10MTRS.
