Cause: torpedoed and sunk by german submarine 28m sw of penzance while on passage barry to st nazaire (ll ww1). built in 1894 by a stephen & sons, glasgow and owned by britain ss co., was torpedoed and sunk by german submarine ub-109 25m sw 0.5 w of the lizard. 6 lives lost. (ww1sl, dods & shipwreck index of the british isles).

HYDROSEARCH VERTICAL HT 8.0MTRS, SHADOW HT 8.5MTRS. LARGE BROKEN UP WK LYING 190/350DEGS AND HAVING TWO DISTINCT HIGH POINTS. LENGTH 95MTRS, BEAM 23MTRS. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 430). AMEND TO WK 86MTRS IN 493516N, 053437W [OGB].
