Cause: built in 1903 by scott & sons, bowling. owned at time of loss by w robertson, glasgow. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 98 nhp, single shaft. machinery aft by ross & duncan, glasgow. passage dublin for newport. in ballast.

- NM 1425/75. H2979/74 1.12.76 H2979/74 1.12.76 DIVED 7.76. LIES N/S. AN EARLY CAST IRON SCREW, COASTAL SS CONSIDERABLY DETERIORATED SINCE SINKING. ABOUT HALF THE WK IS BURIED IN SILT. INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE EXPOSED STERN HALF IS TOTALLY COLLAPSED. STANDS IN A SHALLOW BASIN IN VERY SOFT STICKY SILT. TOP OF WK IS POSSIBLY LOWER THAN THE SURROUNDING SEABED. AT THE BOW SEABED TOTALLY COVERS THE WK, MIDSHIPS THE WK BEGINS TO SHOW, AT THE STERN THE SEABED CURVES AT A STEEP ANGLE RIGHT DOWN TO THE SKEG LEAVING THE STEERING GEAR AND ENTIRE PROPELLER EXPOSED. RUDDER STEM IS BROKEN OFF ABOUT TWO FEET DOWN THE STEM. (E GILES, LTR DTD 13.11.76). H5001/72 23.10.80 H5001/72 23.10.80 EXAM'D 14.6.79 IN 514934N, 051630W [OGB] USING TRISPONDER [2 LOP]. H1950/80 12.1.82 H1950/80 12.1.82 LOCATED IN 514934N, 051618W [OGB]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 24.5MTRS. WK APPARENTLY SITTING IN DEPRESSION IN SEABED (HMS FOX, HI 20). RETAIN AS WK 22MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD.H100/351/10 9.11.95 CHARTED DEPTH 22MTRS NOW INCORRECT AND MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO A MAST. WK IS INTACT AND 30MTRS TO THE DECK AT THE STERN AND 34MTRS TO THE SAND. (R M JONES).
