Shipwreck details

Name: HARVEST HOPE

Length 28.2 meter, width: 8.7 meter, draught: 7.4, tonnage 356 ton

Cause: built in 1996 in szczecin, poland. owned at time of loss by harvest fishing co ltd, peterhead. oil engine of 995bhp, single shaft. listed heavily and later sank stern first following snagging of gear on large lumps of boulder clay and heavy ingress of water through open port transom door. crew recovered. (ll & maib report). snagged on pipeline and took 20 mins to sink. (mrsc aberdeen).

- NM 4709/05. 30.12.05 HA123/005/002/11 30.12.05 FISHING GEAR WILL BE RECOVERED BY A DIVING SUPPORT VESSEL. GEAR IS 'MUDDED UP' AND APPEARS FOULED ON A NATURAL FASTENER NEAR THE PIPELINE. (KINGFISHER FORTNIGHTLY BULLETIN 26/05 DTD 22.12.05). NCA. 1.4.06 1.4.06 FISHING GEAR WILL BE RECOVERED IN APRIL 2006. (KINGFISHER FORTNIGHLY BULLETIN 7/06 DTD 30.3.06). NCA. 8.6.06 8.6.06 FISHING GEAR DEBRIS RECOVERED FROM GOLDENEYE PIPELINE LOCATION. SAND/CLAY BERM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED (SEE 68021]) AND IS THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN THE FASTENER. FVS TO NOTE THIS FASTENER. (KINGFISHER FORTNIGHLY BULLETIN 11/06 DTD 25.5.06). NCA.
