Cause: built in 1889 by j fullerton & co, paisley. owned at time of loss by t g best, liverpool. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 70 nhp, single shaft. machinery by ross & duncan, glasgow. passage teignmouth for runcorn. following engine failure in wnw force 9 drifted towards south stack. dropped both anchors and crew were recovered by the lifeboat, for which coxwain owen received the rnli gold medal and all of the crew the silver medal. foundered next morning.
