Cause: built in 1883 by hall russell & co ltd, aberdeen. owned at time of loss by leslie ss co ltd. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 180nhp, single shaft. swansea for london. cargo coal. suffered an internal explosion and sank. two men lost.

Details measurements/cartography: HH100/351/07 8.11.93 SANK IN DEEP WATER OFF VENTNOR, ISLE OF WIGHT. WRECKAGE, CONFIRMED AS GRIP FAST BY BELL, LOCATED 17.7.90 AND DIVED ON. VERY BROKEN WITH ONLY ENGINE AND BOILER STANDING ABOVE SEABED. (M WOODWARD, 13.10.93). POSN NOT GIVEN. HH100/351/08 10.12.93 LOCATED APPROX 2.5 MILES OFF VENTNOR IN 503333N, 010954.5W [OGB] USING DECCA. VERY BROKEN AND SCATTERED WITH BOILER HIGHEST PART STANDING 12FT HIGH IN GEN DEPTH 65FT, APPROX. ENGINE LIES ON ITS SIDE AND MOST OF THE SUPERSTRUCTURE AND OTHER WKGE IS JUST PLATING FLAT ON THE SEABED. COMMERCIAL GUARD REQUESTED. (M J WOODWARD, 3.12.93). POSN FOR FILING ONLY. 23.2.99 CINC DELETED. MORE THAN FIVE YEARS. INS AS WK 14MTRS. BR STD. HH090/962/01 3.12.02 NOT LOCATED. NOT INVESTIGATED WITH DCS3.
