Cause: built in 1907 by bergen mv in bergen. owned at time of loss by adgesidins redero akties. one boiler, triple expansion engine, single shaft, iron prop. detonated a mine laid by uc 40 about one mile off ryhope. sank just to the n end of whitestones reef. passage rouen for newcastle upon tyne, in ballast. (r young).

ALL ARE WELL CONCRETED INTO THE SEABED. REST OF THE WK LIES APPROX 150MTRS NW OF THE BOILER. THERE ARE SOME HUGE 'BOULDER' TYPE REEFS WHICH GIVE MISLEADING INFORMATION ON THE E/S. CONSISTS OF FLAT DECKING LYING FLUSH WITH THE HARDISH SEABED. HIGHEST STRUCTURE LEFT IS WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE REMAINS OF THE WHEELHOUSE. BELL NOT YET RECOVERED. (R YOUNG). NCA.
