Cause: Iron vessel built 1865 by backhouse & dixon, middlesborough. steam compound inverted engine of 75hp by w king & c, glasgow, single shaft. owned at time of loss by j.m. lennard & sons, middlesborough. foundered about 3m n of scarborough, after cargo shifted in heavy seas, with loss of 2 of 14 crew. BR STD. 15.2.10 OLD DECAYED WRECK OF IRON CONSTRUCTION WITH LITTLE OF HULL REMAINING. LARGE COMPOUND ENGINE AMIDSHIPS & TWO SCOTCH BOILERS WITH DOMED TOPS. STERN SECTION IS OFF LINE FROM MAIN WK. LARGE OLD TRAWL NET ROUND STERN. PORT HOLES BY H WATSON OF NEWCASTLE. IN EARLY 1980'S A COPPER TOILET WITH PORCELAIN BOWL, A WHISTLE AND ENGINE ROOM TELEGRAPH WERE RECOVERED BY LOCAL DIVERS. WK HAS BEEN DIVED SEVERAL TIMES AND IS CONSIDERED TO PROBABLY BE THE GLENGARRY. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT THE TRAWLER LACONIA AS PREVIOUSLY LISTED.
