Cause: ex-galician. built in 1900 by harland & wolff, belfast. owned at time of loss by the union castle mail ss co. triple expansion engines of 375nhp, ?twin shaft for 12.5 knots. passage newport for brest to embark wounded. torpedoed and sunk by uc-56. captain burt and 94 of the crew were among the 153 lost from a total complement of 186.
