Cause: built 1945 by bethlehem fairfield shipyard, baltimore. owned at time of loss by us war shipping administration. five boilers, twin steam turbines, single shaft. machinery by westinghouse electrical & manufacturing co, pittsburgh. passage sydney for glasgow to demobilise troops. went ashore at killard pt co. down & broke in two. no lives loss. (sii).
