Cause: 9.1.52 built in 1944 by consolidated steel corporation. owned at time of loss by isbrandtsen company inc. passage hamburg for the unites states. hull cracked in rough weather, took on severe list and was abandoned by passengers and crew with the exception of the master. he was joined later by the mate of salvage tug 'turmoil' and an attempt was made to tow the vessel to falmouth. tow parted and she was finally abandoned 9.1.52 and sank next day.
