Cause: built of wood in 1957 in france. owned at time of loss by etoile des ondes ltd. oil engine, single shaft. was shooting last string of pots for the day when struck by m bulk carrier alam pintar (built 2005, 229mtrs x 36.5mtrs x 14.14mtrs, 46982 gt), passage quebec for hamburg fully loaded. etoile issued distress call and sank. 3 men recovered, 1 lost. alam pintar suffered minor, cosmetic damage and continued on passage despite receiving distress messages and later attempted to alter official records.
