Cause: grounded and broke up. passage sundsvaill for manchester. crew of 20. 3 managed to man the ship's boat but were washed away. remainder rescued by the n sunderland lifeboat. next day the ship's boat was spotted out to sea and the 3 men were rescued. ex- eshcolbrook, built 1892 by w gray & co., ltd., with 3 cylinder triple expansion engine, 2 boilers, single shaft. renamed emma in 1913 & owned at time of loss by angfartygs a/b emma, gefle, sweden. stranded on knivestone in bad weather, floated off during the night and drifted away sinking some distance away from the rocks. HH100/351/20 9.7.03 HAS BEEN DIVED IN 5541.041N, 0134.978W [WGD]. VISIBILITY WAS POOR BUT DIVERS SAY WK IS COMPLETELY FESTOONED WITH ROPES (NOT NETS) ALL OVER. SO MUCH SO THAT DIVE ABORTED.
