Cause: Built in 1881. owned at time of loss by norddeutscher lloyd. passage bremerhaven for new york with 199 passengers & 155 crew. was involved in a collision with british ss crathie, approx 40m off lowestoft during a blizzard, there were only 20 survivors. (dods).
