Cause: vessel, built 1904 by fairfield co ltd for the union castle mail ss co ltd. four boilers, twin quadruple expansion engines of 969nhp, twin shaft. purchased by admiralty for use as store ship. in tow for scapa flow to be sunk as a blockship, detonated a german laid mine & sank. (sibi).
