Cause: built of wood in 1823 in new york as a passenger/cargo vessel for a transatlantic passenger service. intended to carry passengers from new york to liverpool every month. shortly afterwards was strengthened by iron frames in addition to the original oak frames. vessel was sheathed in copper. struck the sarnau badric reef and sank. two lost. newspapers reported that a large amount of cash was being carried.
