NCA. 15.2.05 RECORD REVIEWED. INS AS FOUL. BR STD. HH091/240/01 18.5.09 NOT SEARCHED FOR, CLOSE INSHORE. (FUGRO OSAE, HI 1240). NCA. 26/7/2022 PROPOSED DESIGNATION ON WRECK SITE "DEVEREUX". (HISTORIC MONUMENTS AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL OBJECTS NI ORDER 1995). This wreck is a prime example of a Victorian barque, the wreck survives in good condition from having been buried under sand. Recent exposure revealed the vessel to the keel with keelson, flooring and framing timbers, as well as inner and outer planking evident to a maximum height of 1.7m. Concreted anchor chains lie off the stern; ballast stones in-situ; wooden treenails (fastening 'pegs'), rigging components (e.g., dead-eyes), an internally stowed anchor & iron stanchions all evident.
