Cause: ex-william beatty. built in 1917 by smith's dock co ltd, middlesbrough. owned at time of loss by the boston deep sea fish & ice co. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 88hp, single shaft. passage fleetwood for fishing grounds. captured and sunk by gunfire by u-41. 6 men lost. (llww2, ww2msl, sibi & axis submarine successes).
