Cause: Built in 1902 by j fullerton & co, paisley. owned at time of loss by the commercial gas co, london. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 75 nhp, single shaft. machinery by mckie & baxter ltd, glasgow. passage from tyne dock for london. cargo coal. foundered off runswick bay in wind conditions wnw force 5. thirteen men lost.

IS EXTREMELY DECAYED GIVING NO CONTINUOUS OUTLINE ON SONAR. 2 HIGH POINTS AT NW END. (LAND & MARINE, HI 414B). BR STD. HH100/351/09 8.6.95 MADE OF IRON. SINGLE BOILER WITH THREE FURNACES. ENGINE ON ITS SIDE. PROBABLY TRIPLE EXPANSION. OLD AND WELL DECAYED. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY). HH100/351/10 24.11.95 PORT HOLES AND STEEL TELEGRAPH LOCATED. STEERING PEDESTAL LOCATED, MADE BY 'THOMAS REID & SONS, PAISLEY 1902'. BOW SECTION WELL DECAYED, THE ONLY CLUE TO ITS LOCATION IS A PILE OF ANCHOR CHAIN. CLEARLY SANK POST 1902, POSSIBLY 'ARDGANTOCK' OR 'COMMERCIAL'. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY). HH100/351/13 17.3.98 CONFIRMED AS 'COMMERCIAL'.
