Cause: built in 1902 by w doxford & sons ltd, sunderland. owned at time of loss by cayzer irvine & co ltd, clan line. three boilers, triple expansion engine of 330nhp, single shaft. passage chittagong for dundee. struck a mine laid by uc29. beached ne of st andrews. 2 lives lost. subsequently heavily salvaged for cargo & dispersed using explosives. (sibi).
