Cause: built in 1906 by workman, clarke & co ltd, belfast. owned at time of loss by ellerman lines ltd. five boilers, quadruple expansion engine of 481 nhp, single shaft. passage manchester for montreal. had been taken over by the government in 1914 as a british expeditionary force troopship. torpedoed by ub-118. 12 men lost. (sii).
