Cause: built in 1906 by ropner & son, stockton-on-tees. owned at time of loss by instow ss co. passage le havre for cardiff. two boilers, triple expansion engine, single shaft. machinery by ne marine engine co, sunderland. caught by a gale & blown ashore at mill bay, lands end. (lands end shipwrecks, sibi & dods).

ENTIRE LENGTH VISIBLE WITH SEVERAL BREAKS 2-3FT WIDE. FLATTENED BOILERS SHOW AT LW, ABOUT 3FT ENGINE & SUPERSTRUCTURE GONE. MAKES DANGEROUS DIVING & BOATING. (E GILES). FOR FILING ONLY.H1282/77/116 4.5.77 REPD LOST AT NANJIZEL BAY. (P R JONES, 25.2.77). NCA. HH091/246/01 30.4.09 HH091/246/01 30.4.09 NOT LOCATED BY M/B IN LISTED POSN. AREA OF ROCK LEDGES. MAY LIE FURTHER INSHORE THAN ACHIEVED SURVEY LIMITS. (NETSURVEY, HI 1246). AMEND DEAD. NCA. 2.2.11 2.2.11 DIVED 21.6.10 IN 5003.269N, 0541.858E [WGD]. STANDS 3MTRS HIGH BY DEPTH GAUGE IN GEN DEPTH DEPTH 6MTRS. WK IS JAMMED UP AGAINST THE CLIFF. SPREADS OUT ON TO THE SANK AND DISAPPEARS UNDERNEATH IT. LARGEST PART IS THE BOILER WHICH RISES 3MTRS OFF THE SEABED. FAR LESS OF A HAZARD TO NAVIGATION THAN THE NEARBY CLIFF. (G J LOCKETT). FOR FILING ONLY. NCA.
