Cause: built of iron in 1883 by w richardson & co ltd, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by thomas thomlinson & co. two boilers, compound expansion engine of 300nhp, single shaft. passage odessa for antwerp. encountered heavy fog and drove ashore. crew of 31 recovered by the lifeboat. (sibi). cargo 3000 tons of wheat, barley, maize, oil cake, feathers and 175 cattle. (d c wendes).

PRESUMABLY GROUNDED STERN FIRST. NO DANGER TO NAVIGATION. (J JAMES, 27.1.79). INS AS NDW. BR STD. 5.1.87 WK IN 503728N, 012712W THOUGHT BY LOCALS TO BE THAT OF THE 'PRISCILLA'. (IOW COASTGUARD, TELECON). PRESUMABLY REFERS TO THIS WK. NCA. 28.4.05 THIS IS CASTLE CRAG. IDENTIFED BY THE COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE. (D C WENDES, PERSONAL VISIT). NCA. 30.1.07 LIES IN 5038.01N, 0127.12W [WGD]. STANDS NO MORE THAN 1MTR HIGH IN GEN DEPTH 6-9MTRS. ON SEABED OF ROCK WITH GULLIES AND SHINGLE. (D C WENDES, SOUTH COAST SHIPWRECKS).
