Cause: Built in 1896 by caird & co ltd, greenock. onwed at time of loss by p & o, s navigation co. two boilers, twin triple expansion engines of 69nhp, twim shaft. passage sydney for london. torpedoed by uc-65. one man lost. cargo included 8000 tons grain, foodstuffs, 1025 tons lead, 1000 tons zinc and general. (sibi).

THIS POSN OBSERVED IN MAY 1952. 1025 TONS LEAD & 1000 TONS ZINC WERE SALVAGED FROM THE FOR'D HOLDS. WK IS INTACT & UPRIGHT ON THE SEABED. WK WAS IDENTIFIED BY THE OVERLAPPING ARCS ON HER TWIN PROPELLERS. (RISDON BEAZLEY, TELECON 18.8.76). H4121/76 19.1.77 EXAM'D 11.8.76 IN 503418N, 003041W [OGB] USING HIFIX/6 [2 LOP].
