Length 100.5 meter, width: 13.1 meter, draught: 5.6, tonnage 3276 ton
Load: coal

Cause: 16.7.84 built in 1894 by ropner & co, stockton-on-tees. owned at time of loss by r ropner & co. three boilers, triple exansion engine, single shaft. passage newport, mon, for civitavecchia. ran ashore whilst steaming at reduced speed in thick fog on second voyage. boats were swung out. distress rockets sighted by pendeen coastguard and 10 crew were recovered by rocket lifesaving apparatus, the other 2 landing via the port boat. refloated 16.7.84 but pumps were unable to contain leaks and vessel foundered in 17fms. (sibi).

TWO BOILERS AND TWO DONKEY BOILERS, DRIVE SHAFT AND TUNNEL SIGHTED HALF BURIED IN SAND. RUDDER AND STEERING POST SEEN BUT NO QUADRANT. MAJORITY OF WK CUT DOWN TO 1MTR ABOVE SAND LEVEL WITH ONLY RIBS SHOWING. POSSIBLY 'BUSBY'. (G J LOCKETT, 29.11.09). INS AS NDW. BR STD. 11.2.10 SEP 2010/000023416 11.2.10 WK LOCATED IN 5010.432N, 0539.608W [WGD] USING DGPS. LEAST M/B DEPTH 24.3 IN GEN DEPTH 28MTRS. LENGTH 97MTRS. (FUGRO OSAE, HN FOR HI 1157). AMEND WK 24MTRS. BR STD. 28.2.11 28.2.11 STANDS 3.5MTRS HIGH BY DEPTH GAUGE. STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY. CONFIRMED AS BUSBY. IDENTIFIED BY SERIAL NUMBER ON STEAM VALVE. (G J LOCKETT). 24.2.12 24.2.12 LOCATED 21.3.10 IN 5010.431N, 0539.609W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 24.43 IN GEN DEPTH 28.7MTRS. NO SCOUR. LENGTH 100.0MTRS, WIDTH 10.5MTRS, HT 4.27MTRS. LIES 020/200 DEGS WITH BOWS SW. (FUGRO OSAE, HI 1157). BR STD.
